I believe the basis to a good teaching session is a firm understanding of the content, hence, I split up my lessons 50/50 where I first go through the content thoroughly, using exam questions and walking through them at the student's pace. The rest of the lesson is spent allowing the students to attempt questions independently and then reviewing them to assess any gaps in the student's knowledge and exactly how best I can support the student to progress and excel!
