Grade 9 GCSE & A-Level Grade A Geography Tutor | KS3, GCSE & A-Level Support
Advert description
I offer friendly, personalised online Geography tutoring for KS3, GCSE and A-Level students, with a particular focus on helping students understand difficult topics, improve exam technique and become more confident in the subject.
I achieved a Grade 9 in AQA GCSE Geography and a Grade A in Cambridge International A-Level Geography, and I am now studying BSc International Development with Economics at the University of Bath. Because I completed my Geography exams recently, I understand what it is actually like to prepare for both GCSE and A-Level Geography: learning large numbers of case studies, remembering key processes, structuring extended responses and understanding what examiners are looking for.
I see being a recent student as one of my biggest strengths. I can relate closely to the pressures students face and explain topics in a way that feels clear and practical rather than overly formal. I also understand the jump from GCSE to A-Level Geography and can help students adapt to the greater depth of content, analysis and essay writing required.
Lessons are tailored to the individual student and can include:
• Clear explanations of difficult physical and human Geography topics • GCSE and A-Level exam technique • Improving extended and essay-style answers • Case-study knowledge and effective ways to remember evidence • Past-paper questions with structured feedback • Revision planning and active-recall techniques • Support with topics students have struggled to understand in school • Developing stronger analysis, evaluation and argument skills at A-Level
I also have experience working with younger students. I helped my younger brother with his GCSE Geography, and he achieved a Grade 9. At school I was a Geography Society Leader and a Humanutopia mentor, helping younger pupils with their transition into senior school. I have also coached rugby to Year 6 and Year 7 pupils, which helped me develop patience, communication skills and the ability to explain things in different ways.
Beyond the curriculum, Geography is a subject I genuinely enjoy. I received Geography Half Colours at school and was Highly Commended in an internal Geography essay competition. I was also placed within approximately the top 7% of entries in the University of Cambridge R.A. Butler Prize for an essay examining the relationship between environmental protection and economic growth
