My lessons are focused on genuine understanding rather than simply memorising information. I want students to leave each session feeling that they actually understand the topic, why geographical processes happen and how different ideas connect together.
A typical lesson would begin by identifying an area the student is struggling with. I would explain the topic clearly, breaking more difficult ideas into manageable steps and using examples and case studies where helpful. We would then apply that understanding through exam-style questions, so the student can see how their knowledge translates into marks.
I would also be happy to set short pieces of work between sessions, such as practice questions, revision tasks or case-study learning. We could then review this together at the beginning of the next lesson. This would help me check that the student has properly understood the previous topic and identify anything that still needs work.
For GCSE and A-Level students, I can also help with exam technique, essay structure, analysis, evaluation and developing stronger geographical arguments.
I achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE Geography and an A at A-Level, and I have a genuine love for the subject. My aim is to help students both understand Geography properly and achieve the strongest exam results they are capable of, by combining clear teaching with focused exam practice, regular review and targeted feedback.
