I prioritise building confidence and enjoyment in my lessons. For this reason I will use diagnostic questions to assess the level a pupil is at with a particular topic, then use a variety of resources to see what works well for each pupil. I use spaced learning to practice pupils' recall ability and try to show how topics interlink to increase pupils' competency overall so that they are not relying on short term memory.
