PhD candidate and University Tutor, QTS teacher of Spanish with experience teaching from beginners to advanced, A-Leves and GSCE

¡Hola! My name is Fernando and I am a qualified Spanish Teacher with years of experience teaching in different environments. I have a degree in English Studies and a Master's in Education with specialisation in second language acquisition. I hold full QTS (Qualified Teacher Status in the UK). I am also Cervantes Institute certified DELE examiner. I keep myself updated in the field, taking opportunities for continuous professional development. For example, I recently achieved Associate Fellow of Higher Education. I have experience teaching Spanish in different settings, especially in Higher Education in the UK. In the past I have taken different teaching roles at Coventry University or the University of Birmingham. I have also worked as a private tutor, preparing for GCSE and A-Levels Spanish as well as organising 1:1/group courses for adult learners. I have particular experience working with beginner users of the language and working our way up to confident use. Currently, I am doing my PhD in Hispanic Studies while I teach Spanish part-time at Aberystwyth University (Wales), so the Spanish language really is my bread and butter!
