My lessons are calm, structured and highly personalised, designed especially for learners who need clarity and confidence. Each session follows a simple, predictable format: a quick recap, focused teaching of a key skill, guided practice together, and then independent practice to build confidence.
I break learning into small, manageable steps and use clear explanations, modelling, and repetition—particularly helpful for dyslexic learners or those with SEN. I regularly check understanding and adapt the pace so students feel successful, not overwhelmed.
Lessons are interactive and supportive rather than pressured. We might use reading, writing, problem-solving, or exam-style questions depending on your goals (primary, 11+, or GCSE). I also share practical strategies students can reuse independently, helping them become more confident and resilient over time.
With over 15 years’ experience teaching vulnerable learners, I focus not just on results, but on helping students feel capable, motivated and proud of their progress.
I use a range of engaging resources, including visual supports, scaffolds, and targeted practice tasks to reinforce learning. Where appropriate, I incorporate exam techniques, revision strategies, and memory aids to support long-term retention. Parents are kept informed with clear feedback and simple next steps, so progress continues between sessions. My aim is always to reduce anxiety around learning while building independence, ensuring every student leaves each lesson feeling more secure, supported, and ready to succeed.
