I got my bachelor degree in English and another degree in preparatory program ( specialized for future teachers) . If I had to describe my teaching method with one word it would be ENGAGING . Indeed, learning a language could be quit constraining and at times it feels like a punishment , but I will change that perspective so you will be eager for the next session. I have conducted extensive reseach on second and third language acquisition . What I have learned is that our mind work in patterns when learning a language . A pattern that is universal and that acts as a key to learning any language . Think of it as a building : though each one has its own design, they are building and constructed from the same materials and on the same pillars . So to put that into practice, I first start my lesson by introducing the students to English , not just as a language but as a culture , an entity . This helps thr students understand that they not only exploring a language but a whole dynamic culture , which eventually brings them closer to the language and fuels their desire to learn more about it . Then I want to provide them with both writing and oral test . During the test , the focus won't be mainly directed to their skills in English, but more to their way of dealing with the language they do not know, their confidence in answering a question and in speaking an utterly foreign language. That would be my starting point in my journey with the student , because there is something more important then teaching a language , which is teaching them the confidence to speak it without the fear of being judged. That is mainly my goal .
