My lessons are designed to be engaging, supportive and tailored to each student’s individual needs and abilities. I believe English Language is a very skills-based subject, so rather than simply focusing on content, I aim to help students develop the key skills they need to succeed. This can include essay writing, effective annotation, analysing texts and using subject terminology confidently to ensure all assessment objectives are being addressed.

Lessons can be adapted depending on the student’s strengths, weaknesses and goals, whether they need help building confidence with the basics, improving their exam technique or pushing towards the highest grades. I can also provide practice questions and feedback to help students understand exactly how they can improve.

I can also support students with creative writing, including developing ideas, structuring responses and using language effectively to create a particular effect. Where appropriate, lessons can incorporate exam-style questions and timed practice, allowing students to apply the skills we have worked on in a realistic exam setting. I want lessons to feel like a space where students can ask questions, make mistakes and build their confidence without feeling pressured. My aim is to make difficult areas feel more manageable while giving students practical techniques they can use independently.

Although I am yet to tutor professionally, I have experience supporting students working towards grades 5–8, and I genuinely really enjoy helping others become more confident in English Language.

I achieved a Grade 9 (full marks) in GCSE English Language and achieved three A*s at A Level, including A Level English Language. I am currently studying English Language and Linguistics at university.
