Whether you're picking up sticks for the first time or looking to sharpen your technique, my drum lessons are tailored to suit your pace, style, and goals. With over 10 years of drumming experience and a background playing in a range of bands—including punk, Jazz, Latin, ceilidh, and original music groups—I bring both technical skill and real-world experience to every session.

My lessons are structured but flexible. We’ll usually start with warm-ups and technique drills before diving into rhythm exercises, coordination, and grooves. From there, we’ll explore songs or styles you’re interested in—from rock, funk, and punk to traditional folk rhythms or creative improvisation. I also offer guidance on writing your own drum parts and playing in a band context.

Lessons are relaxed and engaging, with an emphasis on building confidence and having fun. I adapt my approach depending on your learning style, whether you prefer visual demonstrations, playing by ear, or reading sheet music. I’m also happy to work toward graded exams, performances, or personal goals—whatever motivates you most.

As a songwriter myself, I love helping students connect their drumming with musicality and creativity, not just technique. My goal is to help you grow as a well-rounded musician, not just a drummer.
