Business English that works in real meetings, not just in the classroom

I have been teaching English since 1998, and for more than 25 years I have helped professionals and executives use English with confidence in their daily work. I am also a working interpreter and translator (English ? Portuguese). Every week I see how English is really used in negotiations, board meetings, conferences and technical discussions, and I bring that experience into every lesson.

Who I teach
My students are mostly professionals: managers, directors, engineers, lawyers, finance specialists and anyone preparing for international work. I have deep experience with finance, M&A and capital markets, oil & gas and offshore, mining, steel, and health, safety and environment (QHSE). I teach all levels, from complete beginners to advanced speakers who want to sound more natural and precise.

How my lessons work

First lesson: needs analysis. We talk about your goals, your job and the situations where you use English, and I build a plan around them.
Tailored content. We work on what you actually need: meetings, presentations, negotiations, emails, phone calls, job interviews or industry vocabulary.
Lots of speaking. Lessons are practical and conversation-based, with role-plays, real business materials and, if you like, your own documents and presentations.
Clear feedback. I correct mistakes in a supportive way and keep track of the vocabulary and structures you need to review.
Regular review. Short exercises and quizzes help new language stay with you.

What makes my approach different
My background in anthropology and cross-cultural communication helps you understand more than words. You'll learn how to be polite, direct, persuasive or diplomatic in English, which matters a lot in international business. I hold the Cambridge TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) certificate and keep my teaching up to date through professional events.
