My teaching approach

I am a Maths tutor with over 4,000 hours of tutoring experience. I focus on building strong conceptual understanding by identifying foundational weaknesses, explaining mathematical concepts in a relatable manner, and adapting my approach according to students’ prior knowledge and individuality, making learning more meaningful and accessible and helping students become confident, independent problem-solvers.

Lessons are highly interactive. I regularly prompt students to explain their analytical approach and problem-solving process to ensure they truly master the concepts rather than just memorizing steps. I dedicate time to working through word problems with my students. These problems test whether they truly grasp the mathematical concepts they have learned while simultaneously building their arithmetic skills. Since word problems are typically a major pain point for students, mastering them is essential for exam success. After each lesson, I provide a clear recap and optional follow-up exercises to reinforce learning and support consistent progress between sessions.

Qualifications and experience: I completed a BSc in Physics (HKBU). I have years of tutoring experience including almost 4 years in Eye Level Educational Centre in Hong Kong, giving math lessons to international school students with English as the medium of instruction. I also have experience covering maths lessons and conducting intervention classes when I work in schools in London.
