Hello! I'm a mathematics tutor with experience teaching students from KS3 through to A-Level Mathematics, A-Level Further Mathematics, and TMUA admissions preparation. Having achieved A* grades in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Physics at both GCSE and A-Level, I understand the skills and strategies required to succeed in these subjects and enjoy helping students reach their own academic goals.
Every lesson is tailored to the individual student. I begin by identifying their current level of understanding, strengths, and areas for improvement before creating a structured plan focused on their goals. Whether you are preparing for GCSEs, A-Levels, university admissions tests, or simply looking to strengthen your mathematical foundations, lessons are adapted to your pace and learning style.
My teaching approach focuses on understanding rather than memorisation. I break complex topics into clear, logical steps and encourage students to explain their reasoning throughout each lesson. This helps identify misconceptions early while developing the problem-solving skills needed to tackle unfamiliar questions. I also place a strong emphasis on exam technique, showing students how to approach questions efficiently, avoid common mistakes, and maximise marks under timed conditions.
Lessons typically combine worked examples, guided practice, independent problem solving, and regular review to reinforce previous topics. I provide constructive feedback throughout and encourage students to ask questions whenever something is unclear.
I aim to create a patient, supportive, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. By building both confidence and mathematical understanding, I help students develop the skills needed to achieve their academic goals and become more independent problem solvers.
