Ved Shivakumar Shivakumar

I teach History at IGCSE, IB and A-Level, as well as university preparation. My lessons are focused on helping students go beyond memorising facts to really understand perspectives — why events happened, how different groups interpreted them, and what lessons we can draw today.

We work together on essay-writing, source analysis and exam technique, but I also encourage students to think critically and develop their own voice. I have strong knowledge of case studies such as the First and Second World Wars, Nazi Germany, Cuba under Castro, apartheid South Africa, the American Revolution, the Middle East, the Kosovo War and the Rwandan Genocide.

My lessons are interactive, discussion-based and tailored to each student’s needs. I aim to make history engaging, clear and relevant, while building confidence and skills that will help students succeed both in exams and beyond.
