Usmaan Ahmed

I am a passionate and approachable tutor offering GCSE Computer Science courses, with a strong academic background and practical experience in software development. I achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE Computer Science, a B at A Level, and a First-Class Bachelor’s degree, giving me a strong understanding of the subject from GCSE level through to university-level study.

Alongside my academic achievements, I have practical experience developing software in Python, Java, Swift (iOS) and HTML/CSS. I have worked on projects involving app development, databases, user interfaces, APIs and software architecture. This allows me to explain programming and computational concepts not only from a textbook perspective, but also by showing students how these skills are applied in real world situations.

My teaching approach is student-focused, patient and adaptable. I understand that Computer Science can initially seem complicated, particularly when students encounter programming, algorithms or unfamiliar technical terminology. I would therefore spend the first lesson understanding students knowledge, regular study methods and form a structure that is build around their needs from me.

Lessons will include clear explanations with topics broken down into simple, manageable steps so I can ensure student actively understand the concept of the content rather than memorising information. They will include worked examples, coding exercises, exam-style questions, quizzes, recap activities and personalised feedback.

Whether a student is struggling with the fundamentals, looking to improve their exam technique, or aiming for the highest possible grade, I can adapt lessons to their individual ability, confidence and goals. My aim is to make Computer Science engaging, understandable and achievable, while helping students develop both their knowledge and confidence.
