My lessons are structured, supportive, and built around the needs of each student. I typically begin by getting to know the student, understanding their areas of strength and of difficulty so that I can build a learning plan that would best suit the student. Within my plan, I highlight the crucial areas where the most difficulties are present, amd where possible, link these to the areas where the student is already confident in order to supplement their understanding.

Breaking down key mathematical concepts into steps, I guide the students through solving example questions first with my help, and once they are comfortable, I encourage them to attempt similar questions independently. In order to ensure long-term effectiveness, I open subsequent lessons by asking the student to give a quick recap of what we covered last time - I want to make sure you know what you learned, not just today, but for the rest of your time as a student of mathematics!

I understand that a lot of students lack confidence, as much as understanding when it comes to maths. That's why I focus on creating an approachable and encouraging learning environment, where students are comfortable with asking as many questions as they need to engage fully with my lessons. I fully believe there is no such thing as a "stupid" questions, as curiousity is such an important part of the learning process, and recieving these queries is one of the best ways for me to understand where you are in your learning journey, the areas where my tactics are helping, and the areas where we can both apply effort and improve together!
