My teaching style is centred around clarity, engagement, and building confidence. I believe that students learn best when they fully understand the reasoning behind a concept rather than simply memorising facts or methods. Consequently, my lessons focus on developing a strong foundation of knowledge before progressing to more challenging material.
A typical lesson would begin with a review of previous content and identification of any areas of difficulty. I then introduce new concepts through explanations and worked examples, ensuring that students understand not only how to answer questions but also why particular methods are used. Throughout the lesson, I encourage active participation and questioning to create an interactive and supportive learning environment.
Once a topic has been covered, students will have the opportunity to apply their understanding through practice and exam-style questions. This allows me to identify misconceptions quickly and provide targeted feedback. I place a strong emphasis on exam technique as they develop the confidence required to approach unfamiliar questions independently. Any areas of difficulty would be assessed and gone over, with more practice, to ensure that the students have the concept ingrained in their minds, able to use it to tackle whatever problem they might face in an exam
