About Me

Having completed my own GCSEs and A-levels only a few years ago, I understand exactly how stressful and overwhelming the lead-up to important examinations can feel.

I also understand the frustration of working hard without seeing the results you hoped for. During my own studies, I initially struggled to turn long hours of revision into strong grades. Once I received the right guidance and learned how to study more effectively, my confidence and results improved significantly.

That experience now shapes the way I teach.

My aim is to provide students with the clear explanations, structured support and encouragement that can make all the difference. Whether a student is working towards an A* or grade 9, trying to move up several grades or simply hoping to feel more confident in lessons, I am committed to helping them reach their full potential.

My Tutoring Experience

I have more than four years of tutoring experience and have delivered over 2,500 hours of lessons, both online and face-to-face.

I have worked with students from primary school through to Year 13, supporting a wide range of abilities and learning needs. Some students have come to me with significant gaps in their knowledge and very little confidence, while others have been high-achieving students aiming for the very highest grades.

I have helped GCSE students improve their understanding, exam technique and confidence in Mathematics and the Sciences. I have also worked extensively with A-level students, particularly in Mathematics and Physics.

My students have progressed from struggling near the bottom of their classes to confidently competing with the strongest students. I have also supported high-performing students who were aiming for grades 8–9, A and A*.

Alongside private tutoring, I have worked part-time at Ali’s Academy, a highly regarded tuition centre.

My Teaching Approach

Every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to the individual.

I begin by identifying the student’s strengths, weaker topics and any gaps in their foundational knowledge. I then create a clear and structured approach to help them improve step by step.

I explain difficult concepts in a simple and accessible way, using worked examples and breaking solutions down into manageable stages. Once the student understands the method, I use carefully selected questions to test their knowledge and gradually increase the level of challenge.

My lessons focus on:

I do not encourage students to simply memorise methods without understanding them. My goal is to help students understand why a method works, when to use it and how to apply it confidently to unfamiliar questions.

Supporting Every Type of Student

For students who are struggling, I provide patient explanations, manageable steps and regular encouragement. I help them rebuild their understanding and recognise that they are capable of making meaningful progress.

For students aiming for the highest grades, I provide more challenging questions, unfamiliar problem-solving tasks and detailed exam-focused feedback.

I also encourage students to explore their subjects beyond the minimum requirements of the examination. Developing genuine curiosity and understanding often leads to stronger motivation, better work habits and improved long-term results.

My Goal

My goal is not simply to help students pass an examination.

I want every student to leave lessons with greater confidence, stronger subject knowledge and the ability to study more independently. By building a strong academic foundation, students can approach their GCSEs, A-levels, university studies and future careers with confidence.
