My lessons are friendly, engaging and structured around your individual needs, experience and learning goals. Whether you’re completely new to Computing, working towards a qualification, preparing for an exam or looking to strengthen your technical skills, I’ll help you build your understanding step by step in a supportive environment.
How my lessons work
I begin by finding out what you already know, which topics you find challenging and what you want to achieve. From there, I’ll tailor each session to your pace and learning style. I explain concepts clearly, break complex subjects into manageable sections and use practical examples to demonstrate how they work in real-world situations.
During our sessions, we’ll work through problems together, discuss the reasoning behind solutions and practise applying what you’ve learned. I’ll encourage you to ask questions, think independently and learn from mistakes without feeling pressured or embarrassed. I’ll also check your understanding throughout each lesson so we can revisit anything that needs more attention.
What we can cover
Depending on your goals, I can support you with programming in Python and Java, computer systems, networking, IT fundamentals and cybersecurity. We can explore new topics, work through challenging assignments, practise coding exercises, revise key concepts or develop your problem-solving skills. I’ll adapt the content to your current level and focus on the areas where you need the most support.
My experience and approach
I have a First Class Honours degree in Computing and a background in Cyber Security and Forensic Information Technology. I currently work as a Computing lecturer at a college, where I support students in their learning and help create a positive learning environment. My academic and professional experience has reinforced the importance of clear communication, patience, organisation and adapting explanations to suit different learners.
My goal is not simply to give you answers, but to help you understand why things work, apply your knowledge confidently and become a more independent learner. I want every session to leave you feeling more confident, motivated and better equipped to achieve your goals.
Whatever your starting point, we’ll work together to make Computing more approachable, practical and enjoyable.
