My lessons are friendly, relaxed and tailored to each individual. I can provide support in a range of areas, including phonics, reading, writing, literacy and numeracy, as well as more general learning support.
I will start by identifying what you would like help with and then plan lessons around your individual needs, ability and goals. I use a variety of activities and resources to keep lessons engaging and adapt my teaching depending on how you learn best.
I am a qualified primary school teacher and have experience teaching across different year groups and supporting a wide range of abilities. I also have experience with phonics programmes including Read Write Inc. and Monster Phonics, as well as working one-to-one with learners who need additional support.
I believe that building confidence is an important part of learning, so I aim to make my lessons encouraging and positive. There is no pressure to get everything right straight away, and I am happy to explain things in different ways until they make sense. Lessons can focus on specific areas you are struggling with, help reinforce what you are currently learning, or provide additional practice to develop your skills.
I am patient and approachable and want my students to feel comfortable asking questions. Each lesson can be adapted as we go depending on progress, with the overall aim of making learning enjoyable while helping you become more confident and independent. I am also happy to discuss individual goals beforehand to ensure lessons meet your specific needs.
