I offer friendly and supportive tutoring for GCSE Biology and Chemistry across all specifications with a particular focus on the WJEC specification, as I completed my A Levels and GCSEs under them. I achieved an A* in GCSE Biology, an A in both GCSE Chemistry and B's in both subjects at A Level providing me with a strong grasp of the subjects and the necessary exam technique to achieve high grades

My teaching style is patient, encouraging and focused on creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and telling me when they are struggling. I understand how scary it can be to say that you do not understand something, especially when working with someone you don't know very well, so I want my make sure lessons are a space where students feel completely comfortable doing so.

Rather than focusing purely on memorisation, I aim to help students develop a genuine understanding of each concept and topics. This means they can apply their knowledge to different questions and unfamiliar scenarios, which is particularly important when preparing for exams.

Lessons are typically one hour long and are tailored to each student's individual needs. Depending on the student, lessons may focus on explaining difficult concepts, working through exam questions, identifying areas for improvement, building confidence, or preparing for upcoming exams. I will also use diagrams, examples, practice questions and discussion to find the approach that works best for each student.

I believe that tutoring should be a collaborative process rather than simply talking at a student. I will encourage the student to explain their thinking, ask questions and actively participate throughout the lesson. This helps me identify exactly where they need support and allows us to build their confidence alongside their subject knowledge. My aim is for students to leave each lesson feeling that they understand something better than they did when they started.
