As a life coach, the format I use are:
Psychological approach
1)Getting the person to feel relaxed by:
*Semi- informal Greetings & introductions & the purpose for the meeting, basically that you are there to help
*Discuss briefly what they have planned for the day
2)Then the conversation gets deeper as the person is relaxed, the person eventually says what the difficulties are

4)Give full attention to the client; being a great listener
5)Very attentive and show of keen interest & empathy what the issue is at hand
6)Get the person to say what can be done differently that will make them feel happy or satisfied
7)Lead the person to make suggestions of how he/she thinks the problem should be solved
8)At this stage moving forward becomes easier
9)Get the person to have a say & involved in their situation of moving forward
