To help find a good chemistry learning chemistry, the first free lesson is best spent introducing where the student is at in the course, such as any weaknesses that lead them to tutoring or just the basics of where they are in their year, what books their courses are studying, and even tempering what their attitude towards the subject is (no shame if you don't like it!) it would be helpful if there's any work or tasks they were given to work with. Basic exercises can give me a lot of perspective, and I hope it will also be where I can showcase my ability to grasp the task, what it wants out of you and how you can fulfill the essentials that teachers are looking for.
From there I will be able to get a better picture of how to support the student's journey, I can quickly understand a book's overall themes and techniques, so analyzing passages that are currently being studied, or supplementary ones that give students a strong boost In overall understanding of the text, in the lens of being questioned on it will support the students ability to work with a text and independently show the skills they are inevitably tested on. I am flexible in any suggestions and support a student might need, and while I trust my own judgements with how to move forward, please do contact me with anything you want me to focus on, I am confident enough in my holistic approach to the course to know the importance and larger meaning of small concerns!
Please also note that currently my hours are very flexible, do feel free to ask and I'll be quite likely to make it work! This may change to more regular times and weekends as University starts up again, so please keep that in mind.
