I use real life scenarios when teaching students, such as using measurements in cooking or discovering different ways of using words or math. As someone who is very passionate when teaching both English and Math, I enjoy teaching in a way that is both entertaining and informative. For English classes, my lessons can range from grammar classes to creative writing, where students are able to write freely and express their ideas without any restrictions. I have taken a class in Queens college for teaching math to elementary school students, but I have excelled in math for middle school and high school. In addition, cooking is also one of my passions, so I can incorporate cooking into my lessons to engage students, particularly those that like food! I am an English tutor for another online program that involves students from the UK, so I know how to set up lessons online. I use mainstream song interpretation to help students understand difficult words. In other words, I allow students to pick out songs and I help them interpret what those songs mean. Plus, I can involve books and videos in the exact same way! As a writer, I encourage the use of creative thinking and analogies to portray ideas that can be both interesting and fun. I encourage funny ideas, but not disrespectful ones. As a result, I strongly encourage students to write more so that they can verbalize ideas without being derogatory. I try to make my lessons fun and modern, while still conforming to the standards that are required of me. With that, I hope to be a good tutor to you all!
