My philosophy of teaching is inspired by the words of W.B. Yeats: " Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire". My goal as a teacher is to ignite in my learners a passion for an enduring appreciation of knowledge. In doing this, I have embraced two essential elements; demonstrating passion for my specialist subject and continuously refining the teaching process.
I demonstrate passion in teaching and communicating my specialist subject in order to inspire, motivate and challenge my students. An engaging lesson is active, interactive, challenging, practical and connected to the interests of students.
Continuous refinement of the teaching process is an important element of a reflective style of teaching. Every teaching session must be a laboratory of blending unique learning needs and teaching methods. Assessment and evaluation are integral part of the process, leading to the use of different interactive instructional strategies and resources in order to engage all learners within their different levels of ability.
