I teach what you need to learn. There many approaches to learning about music through the piano. Fundamentals include keys, major and minor, scales both major and minor, chords, harmony. Initially it is good to start with a song that can illustrate the precepts of music:

Beat, rhythm and melody.

At some point it is good to know how to write / notate on a stave. But that is not the place to start.
