Hi. My name is Matthew. Looking for fun and effective piano lessons? You have come to the right place!

WHO DO I TEACH? I teach all levels of students including complete beginners and up to Grade 8. All ages are welcome, both children (primary and secondary) and adults.

WHICH STYLES OF MUSIC? All styles of music, including pop and classical. I am happy for the student to bring pieces they would like to learn.

WHERE? Lessons can take place at your house or mine (near Belsize Park), or on video. Parents are welcome to sit in and have a cup of tea.

EXPERIENCE: I am a qualified piano (and singing) teacher with a Certificate in Teaching from the ABRSM. I am a graduate of Trinity College of Music and have been teaching for over twenty years with great success. I am DBS checked.

PRICE: £50 per hour of £40 for forty minutes.

WHAT ARE LESSONS LIKE? Lessons with me are fun and fast moving, and I have a sense of humour! I make learning enjoyable pieces the main focus, not boring exercises. However, I am strong at helping with music reading (sight-reading, sight-singing) which helps the student learn music faster and to become self-sufficient. I can help with preparation for music exams if the student wishes (my pupils have achieved excellent results).

Matthew has been teaching our children piano for nearly four years. He is an engaging teacher who has a friendly rapport with the children but they also respect him and work hard. They are successfully working their way through the grades while still enjoying the piano. Matthew communicates very well with me and helps me understand how the children are progressing and how I can help. Overall, we are very happy with Matthew's teaching.
