Stefanos Politsakis

My academic background has shaped a deep understanding of the subject matter, while my teacher training and classroom experience have taught me how to translate that understanding into accessible and engaging learning. During my PGCE, I taught Physics and Chemistry across KS3 to KS5, working with learners of varying abilities and needs. I designed lessons aligned with the AQA and Edexcel specifications, using real-world contexts to ground abstract concepts—from modelling ionic bonding with manipulatives to supporting Sixth Form students through the complexities of Quantum Physics and Further Mechanics. Since December 2025, I have been teaching Mathematics, delivering the BTEC Applied Science AQA GCSE specifications and A - Level Physics specifications since March 2026 at South and City College Birmingham. In these lessons I had to adapt my teaching to the special needs of my students by checking their understanding and following their support plan agreed with the College to allow them to unfold their true potential either in lessons or exams. I also collaborated with staff and parents to support students' attendance and performance resulting in increasing attendance percentage and mock paper grades in their subsequent assessments.
