Sophie Tillen

Sociology can appear to be a really overwhelming subject as society is constantly evolving, and there is so much content to take in. My goal is to help students make sense of all of this while smashing their exams.

I’m Sophie, I graduated with a LLB in Law from the University of Sheffield in 2025, and I am currently completing my Master’s in Law in London to pursue a career as a solicitor. I absolutely love tutoring sociology, but I also know how stressful it can be. I achieved top grades in my A-Levels (Maths, History and Sociology), but this wasn’t an easy task, and I know how hard it can feel to approach A-Levels, so that is what I’m here for. I have tutored A-Level Sociology for over 3 years now and are ready to help more students achieve their dream grades.

Ultimately, my biggest priority is building confidence. A-Levels are an incredibly stressful time (for both students and parents!). I am here to help break down the different topics, go through exam questions, provide as much support and resources as I can and help to minimise that stress. For me, there is nothing better than watching a student grow in confidence and self-belief, and a topic they used to dread suddenly be easy and a topic they love!

We will break down the content in the best method for you, whether its a powerpoint, lecture style or us creating revision resources together and then we will look at that content in an exam question to consolidate understanding.
