I have experience tutoring 1:1 French lessons. I aim to make these enjoyable primarily through teaching interesting to the student subject matter as a way to make the lessons as fun and productive as possible. In each lesson, I tend to try and briefly summarise what was done in the lesson before as a way to make sure that the student has competently understood what happened in the previous lesson, as well as to provide a basis for what will be done in the current session. I aim to give homework out if the student requires it, but in a more fun and interactive way such as: narrating to yourself some of your daily tasks and showing me recordings of this, so that the students can really try to make the language part of their everyday life. This technique I believe is particularly important because it is what I was forced to do when living and studying in France for a year. The content will be shaped around both the examination board that the student is using as well as what them/their parents suggest is necessary in order to progress their language learning. I hope that through these techniques the student can really improve their language learning skills as well as have a fun and enjoyable time together. I am really open to questions and learning new things from the student themselves. I can't wait to tutor anyone who is keen to improve their language abilities! Written by Sophie Granville.
