I provide structured, supportive and results-focused tutoring in GCSE Biology, GCSE Chemistry, A-Level Biology and A-Level Economics, primarily following the AQA specification. Each lesson is tailored to the individual student, beginning with identifying weaker topics and areas of uncertainty. I then plan focused sessions designed to strengthen subject knowledge, improve understanding of key concepts and develop strong exam technique in line with AQA mark schemes and assessment objectives. A significant part of my approach involves working through past paper questions together, carefully analysing mark schemes, and teaching students how to structure clear, concise, high-level answers under timed conditions.
To keep lessons engaging, I use a variety of teaching strategies and resources. These include active recall and spaced repetition techniques, quick knowledge checks, exam-style quizzes, structured model answers, visual diagrams for complex processes, and real-world examples to bring concepts to life. I can also create personalised summary sheets, mini mock papers, and targeted revision plans.
I achieved A grades in A-Level Biology and Chemistry, an A* in A-Level Economics, and grades 9-8 in my GCSE Sciences) Having previously mentored younger students in science, I am experienced in explaining challenging topics in a clear and approachable way. I have also tutored A-Level Economics. I genuinely enjoy tutoring because I find it rewarding to see students grow in confidence and begin to understand topics they once found difficult. Creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions is something I value highly, as confidence is often key to strong academic success.
