I hold a Bachelor of Science in biology, which I received with the highest honors along with two minors in chemistry and botany .
As a certified secondary science teacher, I taught environmental science, biology, and research methods for two years. I am proud to have worked with both general education and special education students.
Additionally, I have six months of valuable experience tutoring university-level students in various science subjects, including introductory biology, zoology, general chemistry, organic chemistry. During this time, I personalized the educational experience for each student, gaining insights into their individual learning styles and preferences.
In my lessons, I prioritize interactivity and engagement. I connect the material to students' interests through analogies and real-life examples, making it relatable and meaningful. I use both low and high-ordered thinking questions to foster critical thinking. Informal assessments help me gauge student understanding and they also help students learn and gain awareness of their own knowledge of the material. I also aim to emphasize the bigger picture to highlight the practical relevance of the subject matter. Overall, my goal is to create an interactive and relevant learning environment that inspires students' passion for learning.
