I am currently a 4th grade teacher; I have been teaching for 2 years. Prior to that I was working with young students as a paraprofessional. I have great experience in teaching students who are learning English as a second language.
My lessons are mostly visual. I will start off showing the skill. Students will then watch me model the skill, we will do one together and student will be sent off to try on their own. I will provide numerous graphic organizers to really drive home your learning. Assessment will be in different formats. Presentations, showing me a small skill or a regular test. I want to make learning fun because it can be!
I believe in providing a lot of practice to become perfect. Small group discussions will also be encouraged. This is not a class where I will be lecturing all day to you. You will have chances to speak and hold conversations with myself as well as others in the class.
