I am a young tutor with a desire to enable secondary students to achieve the highest grades they can. I completed my IB examinations in May 2025 and I was thus part of the first cohort to be examined on the new Biology and Chemistry syllabi (2025 onwards). This means that I am well-suited to teaching the exam technique and content which are essential for students taking these subjects.
I achieved eleven 9s at GCSE and averaged 97% across GCSE maths, further maths, biology and chemistry all for which I provide tuition. I can also provide tuition on request for Spanish having taken it for both GCSE and IB Standard Level.
From my personal experience I have learnt that the key to exam success throughout secondary education stems from thorough knowledge of the syllabus of each subject, apt exam technique, and a genuine understanding of topics. After a discussion with my student about the topics/problems that they want to go through, I break down the topic into a way which I think will be best for their learning. I encourage a flexible approach to learning as I have found that the best way for a student to tackle a topic they struggle with is to reframe it in a way which makes sense to them, often through analogies or diagrams. My lessons then move to consolidating the student's learning through practice questions and exam strategies before concluding with a summary of the key points that the student should take away before our next lesson.
