I was born and brought up in India, but moved to Edinburgh for my master's degree in 2024. Throughout my school and university life, I have been exposed to many different teaching styles and have understood my own needs as a student as a result. I'm looking to replicate a safe space for students where learning is not a burden but a passion that is nurtured in a way that suits them the best. I'm best equipped to teach English along with other subjects within the social sciences and humanities, such as communication, popular culture, sociology and psychology. I am also experienced in content writing, dissertation prep, editing and proofreading and am more than happy to contribute my skills in that context.
As a recent graduate in psychology, literature and communication, I understand that tutoring is not a one size fits all project. It needs personalised care and attention, which is the approach I take to ensure students have the best support available from me. My resources and examples focus on diverse, inclusive learning methodologies drawn from my experience and what I have learned from my tutors. I'm especially keen to support students who do not have English as their first language. I have guided municipal students in India to publish their own book and have undertaken informal tutoring during my A Levels in Sociology and English Language, as well as throughout my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees across courses including history, business, politics, psychology, journalism, translation, philosophy and English literature.
