I have previous experience as an assistant professor in biotechnology. Currently I am doing my research at John Innes centre Norwich in the field of molecular microbiology and genetics. My methods of teaching will be based on PowerPoint presentations, providing documents with key information, diagrammatic representations and relating the subject to real life examples to make it easier to remember. I strongly believe in understanding the concept first through real life examples and then writing it in our own words. This makes it easier not to forget what we have studied because the core concept has been memorised by the brain. Technical terms and definitions are very important in science. I use a technique called memory palace to remember these key details and concepts in the exact words so as to make it easier to repeat. I can make biology very interesting for the students and give an idea of how to use it in real life for example agriculture. Many biological concepts were derived when people tried to do agriculture. Complex concepts will be made simple in my class for easier understanding such as biosynthetic pathways, cycles in glucose production by using diagrammatic representations and understanding how in real life carbon is consumed as a sugar for survival of the cell and respiration. I can also help students with making biological models for scientific exhibitions and help them be vocal and explain their project without fear. In conclusion I am a biologist who will raise a biologist with confidence and quality.
