Biology is my favourite subject because the natural world is endlessly fascinating, and I love helping others see it that way too.
Hi, I’m Sandy, a second-year Biological Natural Sciences student at the University of Cambridge, where I’m building on the A*s I achieved in A-Level Biology and Chemistry. I tutor GCSE Science and A-Level Biology and Chemistry, and with over two years of tutoring experience, I know how to turn tricky topics into ideas that click. As a student who has recently sat the same exams myself, I can also pass on my insight into how to best approach exam season.
As a tutor, I’m patient and supportive, but I also believe pupils grow most when they’re challenged to think for themselves. My lessons focus on building confidence, so pupils leave each session feeling capable and motivated. I also help them develop good study habits that last well beyond our time together. Every pupil learns differently, so I tailor my approach to suit their needs and study style.
Explaining science in engaging ways comes naturally to me. I led my school’s Biology Society and have coached tennis and hockey to children aged 3-10, so I’m used to adapting my communication for different ages and abilities. I hope to pursue a career in science communication and media, and tutoring is the perfect way to practise what I love: making ideas clear, interesting and accessible to everyone. So whether you need help with exam technique or the content, I'll tailor my approach to suit you.
