I am a seasoned 25 year comic book artist, illustrator and storyboard artist with experience in filmmaking. I can help each student level up their ability as an artist which they will be able to apply to countless career paths. I will help you get better at drawing people, creating characters with personality, creating movement, light and shading and so much more.
I will cater each lesson to the level of the student. We can start with the basics of human anatomy and proportions. Then we can decide what style of art you’re looking to create. From there, we can work on creating meaningful characters to design for your very own story.
Depending on the student’s goals, we can venture into what it takes to create a full fledged comic book. And if your interest is film, we can direct ourselves to the art of storyboarding. It’s like another form of comic books, utilizing quick sketches and designing the way a scene can be filmed.
With comic books, we can start with creating the core characters and building a world around them. Then we can start page layouts to get a feel for the way your story flows on a page. In essence you are directing all the action, much like a film.
This is similar to storyboarding. Eventually, we can start working from the pages of an actual script. You can learn how to break down the scenes and design where you think camera movements should go. By the end of the lessons, you will have many illustrations to add to your portfolios for future job seeking.
