Ruth Gledhill

I am passionate French tutor with experience in teaching students of different ages and levels, from beginners to mire advanced learners. I have a strong passion for languages, which guided me to my studies. I have taken French GCSE and French A-Level, so I am experienced in exam preparation. My lessons are interactive and fully tailored to each of my students needs. For beginners, I often create lessons based on my experience and carefully plan each sessions to teach students the basics, such as vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation. For more experienced learners, my lessons can be more flexible and student led, which allows them to go through desired content according to their interests or goals. I create and plan lessons which include revision of previous learning as well the introduction of new concepts and knowledge, and give students the opportunity to show off their skills by different tasks such as writing and speaking. All my lessons provides regular feedback to my students, and if desired homework is given to keep track of important skills and to keep students engaged outside of lessons. My lessons are supportive and are a stress free environment, in which students feel comfortable sharing their goals and ask questions. Students practice through interactive and guided activities, such as conversation based ones, giving them the opportunity to practice what they have learnt. Whether my lessons are carefully planned by me or guided by the student's ideas, my aim is to make the time that we have in lessons effective, interactive and enjoyable.
