Ruize Zhang

I am a native Chinese speaker and a student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I offer friendly, patient and well-structured Chinese lessons for beginners, school students and learners preparing for GCSE Chinese or other exams.

My lessons are personalised according to each student’s level, goals and confidence. For beginners, I focus on pronunciation, basic vocabulary, sentence structure and simple daily conversation. For school students, I can help with reading, listening, speaking, writing, grammar, exam-style questions and controlled practice. I also support students who want to improve fluency, accuracy and confidence in real-life communication.

My teaching style is clear, practical and encouraging. I like to explain difficult points in a simple way, then practise them step by step through examples, short exercises and conversation. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, so I always create a relaxed and supportive learning environment.

Each lesson can include pronunciation correction, vocabulary building, grammar explanation, reading practice, writing feedback, speaking practice and exam preparation. I can also adapt the lesson style depending on whether the student wants a more academic, exam-focused lesson or a more relaxed conversation-based lesson.

My aim is not only to help students improve their Chinese, but also to help them understand how to learn more effectively. I want every student to leave each lesson with clearer knowledge, stronger confidence and a practical plan for improvement.
