I offer friendly, interactive French tutoring for children who want to build their confidence and genuinely enjoy learning a language. I have learnt from my experience of learning French for 10 years, and still as a student, that the biggest barrier of language learning is having confidence in your ability and accepting that embracing the language and culture is a marathon not a sprint.

I have also discovered, as a mentor that language lessons must be engaging to move past the stigma of “boring” grammar or extensive vocabulary lists. Instead of relying only on textbooks, I use a wide range of dynamic strategies: memory games, quick-fire mini tests, and active recall activities. These methods not only make lessons more enjoyable, but also help store information in long-term memory, so students remember what they’ve learnt and can actually use it in practice.

As an academic ambassador at my secondary school, I specialised in exploring the most effective revision techniques and the psychology behind successful learning. This role taught me how different students learn in different ways, and how important it is to adapt teaching to each individual.

As a young person myself, I find it easy to relate to my students. I’m always keen to listen to how they feel they learn best, or to help them discover this through our lessons. Together, we can build strong foundations in French vocabulary, pronunciation, listening and speaking, while keeping sessions relaxed, supportive, and fun.
