Having studied Spanish for many years - from GCSE and A-Level through to degree level at the University of Manchester, alongside private tuition - I have experienced a wide range of teaching methods and learning environments. This has given me a strong understanding of what helps students make real progress.
My own passion for languages has also inspired a passion for teaching. I believe that language learning should be both challenging and enjoyable, and I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and developing confidence. Through years of helping friends and family with their language learning, I have seen how the right approach can completely transform a student's relationship with a language.
One of the biggest lessons I have learned is that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to language learning. Every student has different goals, strengths and learning styles, which is why I tailor my lessons to each individual. Whether you want to improve your conversational fluency, strengthen your grammar, prepare for exams, or build confidence speaking the langauge, lessons are adapted to your specific needs.
That being said, I believe that students learn best when they are actively using the language, so speaking and interaction are at the centre of every lesson. We will spend plenty of time discussing topics that genuinely interest you and practicing language in realistic situations. Rather than treating grammar as a set of abstra rules to memorise, I aim to make it accessible and practice. We explore how grammar works in everyday speech and why certain structures are used. I firmly believe that by connecting grammar to real-life communication, students can see its value and apply it more naturally and confidently.
