Hello! I’m Riffat, an experienced Chemistry and Science teacher with an MSc in Applied Chemistry and around 10 years of teaching experience. I have taught students across different age groups and curricula, including British/Cambridge programmes, and I particularly enjoy helping students develop confidence in Chemistry and understand concepts rather than simply memorising them.
My lessons are structured, interactive and student-centred. I begin by identifying the student’s current level, strengths and areas that need improvement. I then plan lessons around clear learning objectives, breaking challenging topics into simple, manageable steps. I use explanations, diagrams, real-life examples, questioning, exam-style questions and regular assessment to check understanding throughout the lesson.
For GCSE and higher-level Chemistry students, I can support areas such as atomic structure, bonding, the periodic table, chemical calculations, energetics, rates of reaction, equilibrium, organic chemistry, acids and bases, electrochemistry and practical skills. I also focus strongly on developing examination technique, including how to interpret questions, structure answers, apply chemical concepts and avoid common mistakes.
My goal is not just to help students achieve better results, but to help them become independent, confident learners who genuinely understand Chemistry.
