As success in AQA A Level Psychology is heavily dependent upon exam technique, this has provided my main focus as an online tutor for most of my students over the last decade (although I can happily provide comprehensive topic support at any stage too!). With more than 20 years experience as an AQA senior examiner, I set manageable homeworks for my tutees (appropriate to their needs and current level); I ask them to complete and submit these the day before each weekly session. I commit to mark them promptly and provide detailed and digestible feedback which will form the basis of our subsequent tutorial. I aim to make psychology fun, but also to be collaborative and approachable.

I have examined across all three papers since the original version of the current specification launched in 2015. I am currently a senior on Paper 2 and an expert in the delights of Research Methods. I am utterly convinced by the profound importance of psychology as a force for good for young people and my approach as a tutor reflects this, yet I am also keenly aware that many enthusiastic and capable students often struggle to translate their appreciation of the key concepts in psychology into convincing and creditworthy examination responses. After more than three decades of teaching, tutoring and examining this discipline I believe I am well placed to support those students who are serious in their ambitions to hit and maybe even surpass their target grades.
