?? What Can You Expect From My Lessons?
My lessons are designed to be interactive, engaging, personalised, and supportive. I believe students learn best when they are actively involved in the lesson rather than simply listening to a teacher.
Whether you are a Primary student, Secondary or High School student, preparing for IGCSE or IB, or need additional learning support, I adapt each lesson to your age, ability, learning style, and individual goals.
?? My Lesson Format
Each lesson usually follows a clear and flexible structure:
1. Warm-up & Review ??
We begin by reviewing previous learning and discussing any questions or difficulties you may have.
2. Introduction to the Topic ??
I introduce the new concept using clear explanations, examples, visuals, stories, real-life situations, or demonstrations where appropriate.
3. Interactive Learning ??
This is where we learn together! You will have opportunities to answer questions, solve problems, explain your ideas, read, discuss, write, and apply what you have learned.
4. Guided Practice ??
We work through exercises together, gradually moving from guided examples to independent work. I provide encouragement and constructive feedback along the way.
5. Check for Understanding ??
I regularly check your understanding through questions, mini-quizzes, discussions, and practical activities rather than simply asking, “Do you understand?”
6. Review & Next Steps ??
At the end of the lesson, we review what you have learned, identify areas that need more practice, and set clear goals for the next lesson.
?? My Teaching Methods
I use a variety of teaching approaches depending on the student and subject, including:
• Student-centred learning
• Interactive questioning and discussion
• Step-by-step explanations
• Visual learning and examples
• Problem-solving activities
• Retrieval practice and revision
• Quizzes and games
• Real-world examples
• Guided and independent practice
• Regular feedback and encouragement
• Exam-style questions and preparation
For IGCSE and IB students, lessons can focus on subject knowledge, analytical thinking, essay writing, comprehension, examination techniques, time management, and practising questions in an exam-style format.
For students with special educational needs, I provide a patient and flexible approach. I can adapt the pace, instructions, activities, and resources to support individual learning needs and help students feel comfortable and confident.
?? What Makes My Teaching Different?
I am patient, approachable, encouraging, organised, and adaptable. I understand that not every student learns in the same way, so I don’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach.
I create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I celebrate progress, build confidence, and encourage students to become increasingly independent learners.
Most importantly, our lessons are a two-way conversation. I want you to participate, think, ask questions, share your ideas, and enjoy the learning process.
?? My goal is not just to teach you a subject — it is to help you understand it, feel confident using it, and develop the skills to become a successful independent learner.
