My lessons are personalised, supportive and designed around each student's individual level, needs and goals. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable, encouraged and confident enough to ask questions and make mistakes.
I have a Psychology Honours degree, am currently completing my PGCE, and hold a Level 5 TEFL qualification. I also have experience teaching English online and working with Grade 8–11 learners.
Depending on the student's goals, lessons can cover different aspects of the English language, including speaking, conversation, grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, pronunciation and general communication skills. For students who need additional academic support, I can also adapt lessons to complement their schoolwork.
I use a friendly and patient teaching style, with a combination of explanation, guided practice, conversation and activities. I aim to make lessons interactive rather than simply talking at the student, while adjusting the pace and difficulty according to their progress.
For younger learners, I can incorporate engaging activities and examples to help maintain their attention and make learning enjoyable. For teenagers and adults, lessons can be adapted towards practical communication, improving fluency, strengthening language accuracy or working towards specific learning goals.
My goal is for every student to leave each lesson feeling that they have learned something useful, made progress and become a little more confident using English.
