I am an experienced secondary French teacher with experience teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, including supporting pupils preparing for GCSE assessments. I also have many years of experience providing one-to-one instrumental tuition, which has developed my ability to adapt lessons to individual learners.
I am patient, approachable and encouraging, and I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building their confidence. My teaching style is supportive but structured, with lessons adapted according to each student's age, ability, goals and areas for development.
Lessons may include vocabulary and grammar development, speaking and listening practice, reading and writing skills, homework support, revision and GCSE preparation. I use a range of activities and explanations to keep lessons engaging and accessible, rather than relying on one approach for every learner.
I understand that every student will have different needs and learning preferences. I will take time to get to know each learner and build lessons around what works best for them. I can use conversation, questioning, written activities, repetition and practical examples to help reinforce understanding and encourage students to become more independent.
Before beginning lessons, I would establish what the student would like to achieve and identify their current strengths and areas where they need support. I can then plan lessons around these needs and adjust the pace and content as we progress.
Whether a student needs additional support, wants to improve their confidence or is preparing for an upcoming assessment, my aim is to help them make steady progress while developing a positive relationship with learning French.
