I have been teaching Arabic to adult learners for the past 5 years as well as teaching Arabic reading to students ranging from ages 5 - 16 for the past 7 years. My approach to teaching involves establishing good rapport and interpersonal communication with students and making them feel at ease throughout the learning experience. Lessons require student interaction and participation. The techniques used for teaching are: visual, with use of whiteboards, Powerpoints and pictures; auditory and social, with students able to work in groups. There is a significant focus on comprehension, with questions being asked to gauge students' understanding. I am a native English speaker with a Celta qualification who would like to make use of my teaching experience to help learners of the English language as a second language progress in their language learning journey. Having taught the Arabic language and Arabic grammar, I am ready to transfer the skills I have accumulated throughout my teaching experience to teaching English. Lessons would consist of English grammar, reading comprehension, translation, speaking and listening. They can range from beginner's level to intermediate and advanced. Lessons would be an hour long. My approach is student centred, therefore I would teach the texts approved by and best suited to students. Students can expect to find engaging lessons that will make English language learning a digestible, easy and interesting experience. As a teacher, I am committed, punctual, organised and hardworking. My aim is to help students achieve the best they can and to persevere in their learning.
