Philip Briggs

I will use Zoom to present lessons. I hold a diploma in teaching English as a Foreign Language and a Masters Degree in Education. My focus, in general, has been the preparation for summative assessment. I prepare students for (I) GCSE, AS & A level and IB English. I can also offer EFL and I have experience teaching the Cambridge suite of exams. Moreover, I can teach Humanities at Key Stage 3 and History from Key Stage 3-5.

I have great knowledge of the format and content of the exams: (I) GCSE, A-level and IB. And the Cambridge EFL assessment.

I offer interactive lessons with extensive use of resources such as videos and educational games.

I believe a truly successful approach is collaborative. That is, demonstrating an understanding of what a student already knows, both directly and indirectly related to the subject, and using that to spur interest and further understanding of skills and content.
