My lessons are always taught with calmness and without judgment. Lessons often vary, as students' needs do, and are taught in ways that seek to address specific difficulties students have with the syllabus. The aim is to complement the current teaching students are receiving from their academic institutions, rather than to override them.

My tutoring is not strictly focused on course content, but also on developing behavioural habits that ensure higher levels of academic attainment for students. This can involve working with students to set long-term, medium-term, and short-term goals for themselves, encouraging personal timetabling outside of school or even short reflective sessions after receiving feedback for marked work to help students engage more thoroughly with how they can improve their work.

This does not exclude engaging with any course content, of course, and the teaching I provide is always contextualised within the stage of learning a student is at. The needs of a student who has covered all of the content in their course naturally differ from those of a student who is still learning it. For those who have already completed the bulk of the content of a course and are revising, the focus of my tutoring is more on engaging with content the student finds difficult and devising studying strategies, as well as directly engaging with assessment methodologies to ensure that students can demonstrate their knowledge in a way that attains higher marks. For students who are at earlier stages in learning their syllabus, the sessions will be more geared towards developing effective learning strategies to make the rest of their learning process as beneficial as possible.

This teaching style requires engaging with and getting to know students personally to develop learning plans. I truly believe in a calm and compassionate approach to teaching, as struggling with something can be embarrassing - especially for younger students! The aim of tutoring should not be to simply tell students where they're wrong and how to be right, but to help nurture them into people who are capable of engaging with the demands of life constructively and positively.
I also value consistent communication with parents, as that extra buy-in at home can really go the extra mile for a student's learning! Maintaining this communication is also really important to ensure I am properly meeting the needs of students and have someone that I myself am accountable to. I am very receptive to any feedback, and I take it all very seriously to ensure I am delivering the best for students!
