Skills and experience:

I am a PhD biologist and experienced researcher who has taught and mentored learners from GCSE through to university level. I founded and led a science company, so I am used to explaining complex ideas clearly, coaching students to think critically, and guiding projects to successful outcomes. My focus areas are Biology, Agronomy, and Agricultural technology across GCSE, A level, and undergraduate / postgraduate stages, study skills and exam technique, scientific writing and presentations, EPQ supervision and personal statements, and introductory statistics for biosciences. I teach online across the UK and bring a calm, structured approach that helps students build confidence as well as grades.

How I teach:

In the first session I assess goals, strengths, and gaps, then agree a simple plan with clear milestones. Each lesson blends short explanations, focusing on clarity and understanding, with worked examples and active practice, followed by quick checks for understanding. I use past paper questions and mark schemes to build exam technique, and I share concise summary notes and resources after lessons so students can revise efficiently. Progress is reviewed regularly so we can adjust the plan, celebrate wins, and keep moving forward. The aim is independent, confident learners who understand the subject and can show it under exam pressure.
